Monthly Open Studio, 9:30-12 every 4th Saturday
Join me and my dear friend Barbara Lessner each month for some field-to-vase fun! You will learn the basic techniques of flower arranging for the home or office. Using the most beautiful, seasonal blooms and a selection of foliage all from Shoving Leopard Farm, you will learn how to prepare and condition your flowers, explore color theory, and begin to experiment with texture, mood, and shape. Your creations will be yours to take home.
At each open studio day, you will work with different flowers as well as with a different vase or container. In May, we will be working with specialty tulips, fragrant narcissus, and flowering shrubs. In June, the focal flower will be the peony. In July we will be playing with the abundance of annual summer blooms and August will will have the first dahlias.
$60 per workshop
$50 materials fee includes all flowers, vases, and other materials.
Tea and coffee and cakes are provided.
CSA members take $10 off each.
Barbara Lessner is a Hudson Valley resident and floral designer with 15+ years of experience. She seeks to balance color and form in her work, and often feels distracted by the wonder an individual flower can inspire.
Private Parties for DIY Weddings

For half-day workshops, the hand-tied bouquet plus one other element are included. All four are covered in the full-day workshop. A fun option for a bridal shower!

A typical half-day runs for 2 ½ hours; a full-day runs 4 ½ to 5 hours.
