2024 Seedling Sale
Friday May 3rd, 12-6
Saturday May 4th, 9-4

At “Flower Power” (formerly Grandiflora)
144 Pitcher Lane, Red Hook NY 12571

Pre-orders are now closed, and all items will show as “sold out” (but are not). If you placed a seedling order, keep your eyes peeled for a confirmation email with directions the week April 29th.

At the seedling sale, any additional purchases can be paid for with cash or Venmo (no checks, no credit cards please). There will be additional seedlings and dahlia tubers, as well as t-shirts, and of course all of the wonderful Native Plant inventory offered by Flower Power!

All plants are potted up into certified-organic, biodegradable pots that you can plant right into the soil with your seedling, or add to your compost pile. The potting soil is Vermont Compost’s OMRI listed potting mix. By the time you get them, your seedlings will have had a strong start, and will have enjoyed a weekly foliar feeding of compost tea and/or fish emulsion - but will not smell of fish when you pick them up :)

Tomatoes: All tomato seedings will come in 4-inch biodegradable pots, which can be planted or discarded into the compost. Note that tomato plants are not frost-hardy, and should be planted in the garden after any chance of frost.

Peppers and Eggplant: All eggplant and sweet and hot pepper seedings will come in 3-inch biodegradable pots. Note that peppers and eggplants are not frost-hardy, and should be planted in the garden after any chance of frost.

Other Veggies: These include leafy greens, brassicas, alliums, melons and more, and come in 3-inch biodegradable pots. Brassicas and leafy greens tend to be cold-hardy, but everyone else should wait until the last frost date to be planted out.

Herbs: A mix of perennial and annual culinary herbs. These come in 3-inch or 4-inch biodegradable pots. All except the basil are frost tolerant and can be planted out before the last frost.

Flowers: Mostly annuals, some perennials, all good for a cut flower garden or simply to attract pollinators. These come 4-pack biodegradable pots. Please be sure to read the description of each to see if they can be planted out before the last frost or not.

I will be adding more and more flowers to the site as I pot them up, so check back in to see what’s new.

Dahlias: These are my farm-grown tubers! They will have visible eyes (new growing stem), and be ready to plant when you pick them up, along with your seedlings. Please place a separate dahlia tuber order through this link (click on photo).

Dahlia tuber checkout is separate from seedling checkout.
